Abstract |

Abstract in Englisch: | The excessive usage of agricultural land worldwide has resulted into a massive environmental damage. This global matter raises the awareness to rethink the conventional approach and reshape the agricultural sector fundamentally. Organic agriculture has proven to be sustainable and it has a high potential to secure our food supply long-term. BIO AUSTRIA as one of the largest farmer’s association in Europe is promoting with their vision the development of organic farming and is operating in the interest of organic farmers. It is crucial to receive the support from the consumers to attain a substantial change. Therefore, it is beneficial to develop different concepts for organic farming to increase the interest in our society. For example, developing a customer loyalty program by one of the largest farmer's association in Europe can result into increasing the involvement of consumers in Austria, especially looking into Lower Austria and Vienna, where the awareness is present nevertheless, by proving them with exclusive offers. The method for the determination of the optimal customer loyalty program (KBP) were focus groups and applying the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Within the master's thesis, various program concepts, here named as alternatives, were developed for the customer club. Three alternatives were submitted to the marketing department of BIO AUSTRIA Lower Austria and Vienna for evaluation by taking the following criteria of costs, profitability, feasibility and customer loyalty in consideration. The alternative one could assert itself as the most optimal alternative as the criteria costs and feasibility had the strongest impact on the results.
